Higgs Boson: It was 'very nice to be right' (Definition of success)

I was watching a documentary the other day on BBC and there was this guy, who has some 700 buy to let properties, talking about being a hard working successful individual.

Made me think what I would call a success and here is one;

Success:

Coming up with a theory to be proven after 40 years with the efforts of > 10,000 scientists using a 27 kilometres circumference, 175 metres deep tunnel beneath the Franco-Swiss border.
